About Alex
Alex Davis has been teaching Zumba since March 2010. She has been passionate about keeping fit ever since the birth of her fourth child, recognising both the physical and mental benefits of staying in shape for both herself and her family.
"After having my children I was left with five stone to lose so I understand what a chore exercise can be. But Zumba combines great music with a sense of freedom and fun. It is a “feel-happy” workout where you can forget your worries for an hour and leave feeling happier than when you arrived. Because of the variety in every class you avoid that sense of relentless repetition that can be a drag in other forms of exercise. And yet the sense of achievement comes very quickly to all my participants – after just a couple of classes. That’s crucial to any long term fitness goal and is what keeps people coming back.”
As well as being a Zumba instructor Alex teaches English to 11-18 year olds. She enjoys the balance she strikes between her challenging, word-focused day job and her evenings of simple physical movement, music and the laughter that Zumba inspires. She is amazed at how easily her participants learn the routines through a combination of visual and verbal cues. “The energy created by the class is infectious and uplifting, and I experience the thrill both of teaching and taking part!”
Alex is always available before and after class to answer questions and discuss individual problems and advice.
